Olga Gorea, PMHNP

Olga Gorea is a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner who brings experience from diverse clinical settings, including corrections, outpatient practice, and inpatient care for individuals with serious mental illness and substance use disorders. Her work has centered on supporting clients with dual diagnoses, complex trauma, mood disorders, and long-term recovery needs, with a special focus on PTSD, anxiety, depression, and the lasting effects of childhood adversity.

Olga’s clinical practice blends psychopharmacology with evidence-based therapies. She is trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and integrates modalities such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Motivational Interviewing, and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) to complement medication management. She is deeply committed to psychoeducation, helping individuals and couples better understand how symptoms and diagnoses affect daily life and relationships. Believing that relationships are a powerful source of both healing and growth, Olga collaborates with clients to navigate challenges, strengthen resilience, and move toward meaningful change—while also inviting them to challenge old beliefs that may hold them back.

Currently on her path to a PhD, Olga’s research focuses on advancing trauma-informed care for individuals with histories of PTSD, trauma, and childhood abuse who are also navigating addiction and long-term recovery. Her work aims to bridge the gap between clinical practice and research, ensuring that people receive care that not only addresses symptoms but also honors their lived experiences and fosters lasting healing.
