Dr. Hyams has an evidence-based approach to helping her clients understand themselves better and make meaningful changes in their lives. She might use CBT, ACT, DBT, CPT, ERP, and/or IPT, depending on what clients need. Clients have the best outcomes when they are committed to doing the work both inside and outside of sessions. She enjoys treating adults of all ages with a variety of presenting problems, such as mood disorders, anxiety, trauma, chronic pain, tinnitus, grief, life transitions, and diversity issues. As a geropsychologist, she specializes in work with older adults, including coping with aging, physical health conditions, hearing loss, terminal illness, complicated grief, and end of life issues. Finally, she helps couples strengthen their partnerships using the Gottman Method and EFT.
