Separation and Divorce Group

Led by Sharon Younkin, LICSW

Sharon Younkin, LICSWGetting separated and/or divorced can be the most stressful life events an individual can experience. It is a challenging time, which is greatly aided by support, education and strategies for coping. RICBT is offering a group for men and women who are going through or have completed the process of separation or divorce.

Separation and divorce typically present difficulty in many areas: parenting concerns, intense grieving, loss of social support, financial issues, legal complications, unpredictable emotions, and impulsive behaviors. The emotional piece alone is often overwhelming and fraught with guilt, shame, rejection, loss, betrayal, failure and loneliness.

For three months, this weekly group will focus on discussing themes common to separation and divorce while facilitating healthy coping and adjustment in the context of supportive discussion and helpful assignments between sessions. You do not have to go it alone. There are many ways to help make the transition more bearable and part of the journey to getting healthier oneself and building healthy relationships.
